Getting Started
It's Your Game, Your Way
First:
Create a Login and User Name or Play Anonymously as GuestN

Next:
Select the languages that you want to play in. Don't worry - you can always update your selection anytime in your profile. The selection in your profile allows others know which languages you are willing to play in -- but you do not have to play in all of your selected languages in each game. You can adjust languages for each game that you start against an opponent. Free users can select up to 3 languages. Subscribers can select all available languages.

Then:
-
Select an opponent. Some opponents will be suggested on the "Game" page or tap "Friends" at bottom of screen and then search. In the example to the left, "Linguistic Luminary" was selected as an opponent.
-
Pick the languages for that particular game (uncheck the ones listed from your profile that you do not want in).
-
Choose as few or as many as you like (at least one to get started!)
-
Every game is a new adventure - you decide the language combo for each game that you start.
-
Only the common languages that you have with that selected opponent (Linguistic Luminary, for expample) will be available for play in that particular game.
-
Select your game board background, if you like.

Time to jump in and get things going
Starting Hand:
Every player kicks off with 7 random letter tiles, drawn from the rich mix of characters from the languages that you've selected -- yes, even those special language-specific ones like ñ, ö, á, ú, ü, .... as example!

Your Turn, Your Score:
When it is your turn, your name and current score will be highlighted in white along with an indicator pointer.

Now the Real Fun Begins!
The Language of Play (LoP):
The LoP is your guide and is important to pay attention to. It is displayed in the top-right corner. All of the available (and agreed to) languages for this particular game are listed. However, the active player must play their word in the language of the highlighted LoP. In the example to the left: Irish (GA), French (FR), Spanish (ES), English (EN), and German (DE) are available, however, the highlighted language is English (EN). Therefore this player's word will have to be played in English on this turn.

Change Language (CL) Squares:
Here is where Linguicity gets strategically interesting ..... and challenging! If your word lands on or crosses one of the purple CL squares you get to shake things up by choosing a new language (from the agreed set) for your opponent. Your opponent will now have to play their word in the new language! Time to outwit and outplay!
Strategic Moves in Action
Since the first player has an ö and an "ñ", in the above example, it might be time to get creative! They may want to get the LoP to be either German (DE) or maybe Spanish (ES) in order to use those letter language-specific letter tiles.
They can switch the LoP by either:
-
Playing a word to cross a CL square, or
-
Using a Change Language PowerUp at the start of their turn and change the LoP to the language that they want -- without losing their turn.

Build and Transform
Words that are already on the board are fair game for creating new ones in the current LoP. For example, if "play" had been played in English, a player could spice things up when the LoP is in Spanish by adding an "a" to form "playa". Talk about making waves - literally!
Additional Tips & Hints

How to Use Power-Ups
-
Tap the PowerUp icon in the bottom left corner of the game screen.
-
A pop-up will show your PowerUp options. Just tap the one that you need, and voilà you're good to go!
-
Use PowerUps at the start of your turn, but remember you can only use one of each per turn.

Levels
-
Levels are determined by the total word points that you have played.
-
Each group of 10 levels require incrementally higher total points to attain. That is, each level from 1-10 are attained for every 100 points played (total in all games). Levels 11-20 require 110 points to move to the next level. Levels 21-30 require 120 points to move to the next level and so on.

Coins
-
Coins can be earned during game play or may be bought in the Linguicity Store within the app.
Don't like the current LoP? then use one of your PowerUps (Change Language+) to change the LoP to the language that you would like before you play your word.

Need different character tiles? Use the Swap+ PowerUp to swap out your tiles at the beginning of your turn.
